Throughout his life, Aristotle wrote around 200 works, all of which are heavily quoted and admired to this day. Alongside philosophers Plato and Socrates, Aristotle gifted us the fundamentals for modern Western philosophy and is considered one of the world’s greatest writers on politics, psychology and morality.

Born around 2400 years ago, Aristotle existed during the classical period of Ancient Greece and very little is known about his elusive life. Plato was his mentor and he stayed with him at his academy in Athens, where he stayed until he was thirty-seven. He also became a faithful mentor of Alexander the Great, recorded geological observations, systematically studied biology and made a lasting contribution to psychology, particularly in the fields of memory and the soul.

None of his work was intended for publication and it is estimated that only around a third of it survived.
