5 Ways To Hack Your Subconscious Mind And Get What You Want.

To get what you want you might think that everything relies on intelligence, luck or circumstance. Those things are important in changing your failures into successes, but there is something much more important and it’s been inside you this whole time.

Your conscious mind is the thoughts you hear in your mind every day, the actions that you decide to take or the conversations you have with people. The idea of the subconscious mind however, is a much more difficult concept and takes much more active reflection.

Do you constantly think about how to walk?

Are you always aware of why you are nervous or anxious?

Do you decide when you want to breathe?

Your subconscious mind is working all of the time to regulate mental and bodily functions and it defines everything that we do. The subconscious is also in charge of the things that you believe in and your automatic reactions to a situation. Once we start to pay attention to these processes we can start to change how we behave and react, but it takes time. This list highlights some aspects of your subconscious mind that you can begin to take control of and change your life for the better, moving you towards your goals.

1. Positive reinforcement

Positive reinforcement is a behavioral technique that is used in many different situations for enhancing the lives of adults and teaching children all the way down to training pets. This technique is based around rewarding yourself for any positive actions you take, rather than punishing yourself for any negative actions. Doing this subconsciously trains your mind to complete positive actions automatically as your subconscious expects you to get a positive response. These rewards can also be anything you like and can be large or small. Luckily, it is easy to teach and can be an easy change to make.

Try rewarding yourself after you have done a session of exercise or an intense piece of work and give yourself positive affirmations (kind words) after doing great things for other people. An amazing reaction you give yourself get whilst doing something good for yourself or others can lead your subconscious towards automatically doing these actions without conscious thought.

2. Meditation

If you are at the stage of working out your subconscious behaviours and having trouble with it, meditation is incredibly useful as a mode of looking inwards. The main principles of meditation are built around breathing and stillness. Breathing is one of your subconscious behaviors and taking control of this is excellent practice for taking control of your mind. The space that you create and the time that you give to yourself gives you the chance to think about other people, what you want to achieve and the positive things about yourself.

You can create a safe space and can be practice alone at home, or even at a meditation class in a yoga studio or Buddhist temple.

3. Focus on goals

The moment you believe you can’t achieve something your subconscious mind will switch off and stop working towards helping you attain it.  You can aid yourself in this through working out the things you want to succeed in and then writing down your larger goals. For an influential approach that will quickly unlock your goal driven superpowers, close your eyes each morning and focus on each goal, asking yourself, “what is one thing I could do today to move toward the achievement of this goal?

Think about the things that are most important to you when you are consciously completing everyday actions and your subconscious will soon naturally assimilate your goals into your behaviors without you even having to think about it.

4. Analyse negative behaviors

In order to work out what is happening in your subconscious mind, you need to first untangle any of your behaviors that are negative. For example, these could include being cruel to yourself, irritable with others or bad habits such as spending too much or not doing enough productive work.

This can be achieved through any of the above techniques (positive reinforcement/focus on goals) but being aware is the first and most important step. Develop awareness through mindfulness and thinking deeply about every action that you take. As well as focusing on positively integrating behaviors, working out which of your subconscious actions are negative is the first step towards getting rid of them and leaving room for better things.

5. Focus on others

When we are incredibly busy and stumbling our way through our lives, it’s easy to become focused intrinsically on yourself. Although all of the rest of these techniques are inwardly focused, outwardly thinking about others can increase the levels of empathy that your subconscious operates with. This counts for strangers as well as your loved ones. Why not try listening more actively and deeply to people or remember the things that they say to you to make them feel heard. Asking people how their day is and giving them a smile is a great way to get you out of your own head. Making others feel comfortable with you makes it so much easier to achieve your own goals as it means you are not working alone.

The positive feeling you get after being good to someone is too great for your subconscious to resist, and soon your newfound empathy for others will become part of your everyday subconscious behavior.

Your subconscious is powerful and using these techniques to focus on making its usefulness greater will hugely affect the conscious actions you take every day, lessening the strain on your mind and leaving room for more important things. Ultimate subconscious superpowers are unlocked when both your conscious and subconscious mind work together in such a way that they both work towards the achievements of your goals. You have everything you need inside you, it’s now your job to unlock it. Hope you have a wonderful and peace-filled day.
